A throne and a Shopping Site

Saw this throne and couldn't resist sharing it with you.

As we start a new week I also wanted to share a web site with you in case you aren't aware of it. Retailmenot.com can be a shoppers dream.
It's super easy and has the Good Housekeeping "Seal of Approval" and it's available for both iOS (IPhone) and Android. You can also just visit the site on line and check it our and use it for ordering online.
You can browse thousands of deals, coupons, and more to get major savings at stores and restaurants. Apply the discount and score a deal!

Are you aware that you can also use your "Scene" (movie discount card) and your Automobile Club card (such as BCAA or AAA) and get points when you eat at many restaurants? Check the sites online for a list of discounts.

Happy Monday everyone!

Sitting on the fence? Don't wait and be disappointed! Our CJCS adventures are always so much FUN!
There are two tickets remaining at our discounted rate for the winter trip to Ixtapa, Mexico. If interested in this Westjet All-Inclusive vacation, contact Sue as these tickets will only be held until July 31st. After that there may be a price increase or no rooms available.

Sue's contact information is posted on our Facebook page and in the newsletters and on our CJCS cruise website as well as our members website.

VIDEO CHATTING WITH FRIENDS AND RELATIVES

Do your FaceTime with your grandchildren? Would you like to? Would you like to never miss a call? Many use Skype but that is usually only available when on your computer.

Are you aware there are many other options, especially for those who don't all use I-Phones?

Apple's FaceTime only works if both you and your friend/relative have I-Phones.

Skype has an app that you can download to your both an IPhone and an Android phone. (Android is anything other than an Apple phone) To use Skype you both need to set up Skype accounts with an ID and those you plan to video chat with must do the same. Skype has made some major changes lately and even for those who are used to using it, its become confusing!

Google has a Duo app which allows face-to-face video conversations between any combo of iPhone and Android. It has a feature called Knock Knock.

Our family uses a program called "What's App" which is a free download. It's relatively new in Canada but has been extremely popular in Europe for years.

It's a messaging program but one that can also be used to phone someone or video chat with them and you can send photos and videos that may be too large to be sent via email.

FaceBook also now offers ways to contact others but I am not sure how safe it is at this time. As far as I am aware you can only do a video call and to do this - go to the person's home page and look to the right of their cover photo, right of Message tab are some dots.... click on this and look down the list to where it says "Video call".

Hope this information may be of use to some of you!
Have a wonderful weekend.

HOW TO COOL DOWN ON A HOT SUMMER DAY

With the hot summer days we are always looking for ways to cool down and right now even sitting in the shade can be hot so how about a nice cool drink?
Invite some friends over to share some of these:

Raspberry Lemonade Slushie

2 cup fresh Raspberries (frozen)
Juice of 2 Lemons
1/2 cup Sugar
2 cup Ice Cubes

Toss ingredients in blender and blend until ready.

Alternate recipes: each serves 4

1 lb frozen raspberries
2 cups ice
1/2 of a 12 oz. can of limeade
1 cup water

Peach Fruit Slushie

1 lb frozen peaches
1 cup ice
1/2 12-oz can of frozen limeade

1 1/4 cups water

QUEEN SHOES

Yesterday I posted some cute shoes and how to decorate them.

Today on Facebook I saw some adorable red flats and they were decorated all over with small rhinestone crowns. Apparently the red flats were purchased at WalMart and under $10!!
The small crowns can be found at craft stores.

Hello friends

I am going to try to rejuvenate this blog but in a more friendly way, sharing with you information that I believe may be of interest to you and others. Please feel free to sign up to know when updates are made. (Enter your email address below the large logo on the right side of this page and click submit)

Share the blog with friends too. Encourage them to follow the blog and of course, to join or start a chapter of CJCS with their friends, if not already a member.

We hope that eventually this blog will replace the cjcsmember website as we encourage our members to register to join the "Jewel Box", which is only for members but this blog is for you to share. I hope you will enjoy it!

This is for my more creative friends although a great deal of ability isn't required. I did something similar for a PJ Party and covered an old paid of mules with bits of purple boas. I just used a glue gun and stuck pieces onto my old shoes.  If I still have them I'll post a photo later.

But here's something far more creative and elegant:

Go to your local Michael's or craft store and look for Swarovsky or other crystals and pearls and for some "Gem-Tac"

Use a pair of tweezers to set the stones using the flatter, larger stones first. Just a dab of Gem-Tac will do it and you will have a pair of shoes similar to ones being sold for over $400.00 such as the ones I saw in a magazine recently.

Have fun!
