NEWSLETTER NUMBER 79 HAS BEEN SENT!

Hard to believe but next month will mark 80 newsletters sent - representing 80 months - since August 2009 when we sent our very first newsletter to our members.
We've come a long way.
Thank you isn't enough to all of our Jewels who have supported us from day one and believe in our dream but - THANK YOU!!

THIS MUST BE A NEW RECORD!

Registration for our National Convention, to be held in Calgary in September 2016, has been open less than one month and already there are less than 50 tickets left.
Obviously out ladies love the National and what better location than Calgary, gateway to the Rocky Mountains.

All membership renewals are up to date and have been processes and receipts have been sent to each member. If you haven't received yours, check to ensure your Queen has sent it and if so, please contact our office as it's apparently been lost in the mail. We'd be happy to forward a new registration form and we need to know that you plan to renew, otherwise, your name will be removed from our data base and you will receive no further news or newsletters from us. It's wonderful that you have all renewed on time and we thank you for your promptness! Our Jewels are awesome!

EVENT JUNE 1, 2016 IN ONTARIO

Calling all Jewels in Ontario. 

The Niagara chapters are hosting a "Meet & Greet" and Luncheon with special guests President & Founder Lynda Millard and Vice President Sue Schierer.
Information, how to reserve tickets, join the bus coming from the Hamilton-Dundas area, location etc. is all available on the Jewel Box in the Ontario Group. Check it out and make plans now for your chapter to attend.

CARIBBEAN CRUISE 2016

Our Jewels have been busy.
Many of us have just returned from a fabulous Caribbean cruise.
We've also had lots of trips: Las Vegas, the National Convention in Halifax, Nova Scotia, along with more local provincial conventions, parties across the country as well as regular chapter activities.

Registration for the National 2016 is now open as is registration for the Provincial Convention in Alberta in the spring of 2016.
There are several large events coming up in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario that are open to all Jewels also. Watch your email inbox for details -  we love to stay busy!

We have four Facebook groups. One for members only, one for Queens and Vice Queens, an information page and we recently had a "virtual Valentine's page" where our Jewels could share Valentine greetings with others across the country. 

Of course we also have our private, members only, website: "The Jewel Box" where our Jewels not only go to play and stay in contact with other members but also can join many groups, including support groups, and find a wealth of information.

As you can see by the photos below, we always have FUN!

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE CROWN JEWELS OF CANADA SOCIETY™ FROM YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

September 25, 2013

A letter is being emailed to all members with respect to the 2014 rates for both membership and insurance. There have been some changes so please do not use our old forms as they are incorrect.

As of October 1st, the new forms will be posted on the member's website and included in the October newsletter. They will also be available from your Reps after October 1st.

Please do not send using an old form. Be sure it says "2014" on the top of the page.

INSURANCE

Last year the underwriters raised the cost of our insurance but thankfully, our insurance agent was able to get them to agree to keep the premium at the same low rate but this year, we have no choice but to pay the new rate which is $2.00 more than the 2013 rate. Premium payments are due in our office no later than February 14^th, 2014 for you to be included in the 2014 policy. Insurance is optional and available to those members/chapters who wish to participate in the policy. To have this same amount of protection on your home policy would cost you an additional $800.00 on top of what you presently pay, for this “umbrella” policy. Therefore it is still an incredible bargain for our members.

MEMBERSHIP

At the national convention’s Annual General Meeting a motion was made from the floor to raise the membership fee and it should be noted that this was passed by 100% of the members present.
Registration fees will remain as a one-time fee of $5.00 and there is no intention to ever change that.
Therefore, effective January 1^st, 2014, membership renewals will increase. Complete information will be on the new 2014 membership renewal forms.

NEW WEBSITE AND UPDATES TO OLD ONE
We have been busy upgrading the old websites and have created a new one too for "one-stop shopping" for our members. Details were in the September newsletter and will be repeated in the October newsletter.

NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES
All members of the board and provincial reps are changing to new email addresses. Watch the newsletter and all future communications for details.

CONVENTION 2013

A huge thank you to Elaine and Sue and their committees. They really put on an outstanding long weekend for our Jewels who came from sea to sea to attend. 

Congratulations to Carol from Lower Sackville NS who won the "Song Writing" contest! Debbie and Carol sand it for us at the AGM and we all had the tune playing in our heads the rest of the day. Cross Iron Mills contributed a bus and gift bags for those who wanted to go shopping.

11 sleeps until we meet again at our annual convention! How exciting is this Jewels?

Just an update for those interested in the 2014 cruise - space is limited. Book now as not a lot of cabins remain. We've a great group going this year so join us for a week of FUN IN THE SUN!
